Throughout this last year i have seen you in schools and in your masses at the Crowtree!. We are really pleased that you all come every month and continue to enjoy the event. Next Year we will be continuing to use the Crowtree Venue whilst it is still available to us and being such a great venue we want to make the most of it. There has been allot of talk and discussion about the future of the Tournaments and how we can expand and grow to incorporate all that want to play. Well Youth For Christ is a national organisation which has centres like ourselves all across the UK and abroad. Every centre is unique and they all have a multitude of activities and programmes on offer. You will see Youth For Christ in Schools, Youth Centres, Prisons and on our streets and in our towns! They use everything and anything they can from people in schools to guys and girls touring the country singing and rapping! You may have seen one of these groups called "Dependance" who work in the North East and have been in schools with us, you may also have seen the Cage team "Nomad" who travel up and down the country with their Football Cage! There is literally hundreds of workers up and down the country everyday giving their lives and time, to work with Young people like yourself! And so why on earth do we do it! Well first and for-most we all have a common goal and that is to see the "Gospel" spoken to every young person in Britain in a relevant way! Every worker and volunteer at Youth For Christ that you see in your school or elsewhere are all Christians! And because of the amazing gift that we believe we have through Jesus Christ we want to share it with you!</p> <p>I myself became a Christian when I was 21 and I sincerely wish that I had meet this Jesus character earlier on in my life, but now I get the chance to share my story and my encounter with the creator "God" and to let young people like yourselves know that we have a God who thinks, cares and loves us every minute and every second of every day! He loves you so much that he gave his only son to die for you! He died for me and thankfully 6 years ago I realized exactly what it meant, I want to share about Gods love because he is amazing and he created you to be amazing too, if you sometimes feel like I did 6 years ago that it seems pretty pointless living to die then talk to someone at Youth For Christ and ask them about this Jesus and about how we can actually have a relationship with GOD!!, a God who holds the world and time in his hands, who made the universe and everything in it! I did this 6 years ago and God took me a sinner who was crying out for love and he changed me inside out, i am not perfect but I know the one who is and he knows my name! I say Training but basically we would split into teams and have a game for the whole Hour, we use to run this down south and everyone use to love it and really enjoy coming. Depending on numbers we could either use 1 pitch and do 6 or 7 a side or if we had more we could use 2 or even 3 pitches!<br /> Its a bit of a social and good opportunity to meet up on a regular basis but also to have a good ol game of footy! I dont know about you but a good competitive 7 or so a side on astro is great fun!! This would run totally seperate to the Tournaments but i think it would be good as we can meet regularly. Instead of Raich Carter i think the Ski Slope will be a better option as the bus from the town stops practically outside of it. So we could not do 15-19s every month and 11-14s every other unless you are willing to still scrap for places when you both play.<br /> 11-19s is definately a no go! The problems we have are with the capacity and time that we have to use the SAFC Venue. At present we run both the 11-14s and 15-19s together and we cap the teams at 7 each age group as this is the maximum we can run! However there are many more teams now wanting to play. </p> <p>My thoughts are that we can either stay put at the crowtree and re-devise the format e.g, we have 11-14s one month and 15-19s the next, you would play every 2 months effectively!<br /> or<br /> Move to a bigger venue, this would mean looking around and might be outdoor.</p> <p>We are not wanting to stop any of the groups epsecially the 11-14s as this would eventually cause the older age group to dry up with no teams coming through, if you have a preference or think you have a good idea then please leave them below.
