VOLUNTEERS
WYFC relies heavily on volunteer support. We have volunteers ranging from 1-3 days a week to full time year out volunteers. In connection with the other YFC centres in the north east, we run our own year out programme, providing ongoing training and support for any individual who wishes to serve God.

We provide options for volunteering in general schools and youth work and working as part of our sports outreach programme. The centre is also set up to take in young people who wish to do their work experience with us. Over the last 6 years, over 20 young people age 15 -25 have worked with us in 1 or more of these areas. To be able to be in contact with young people, and deliver the gospel, in a way which is not only exciting but also severely thought provoking is nothing less then a miracle from God. "Hey, I’m Jonny Conn. I’m 19, was born in Sunderland and I’m a drummer. I’m a volunteer schools worker with ‘WYFC’. It has been great being able to use my gifts and talents to serves God. I’ve helped teach two young people how to play the drums as well as help many others to find out about God…You should try it!!!!" - Jonny Conn

"I have been doing a year out with wyfc since sept 07. I am nearing the end of my year out now and looking back there have been many challenges but with it many rewards. I feel that this has been a great way for me to share and express my love and passion for the good news of Jesus. It has been an amazing journey and I would recommend if you have a heart for sharing your faith and the great news of the gospel then doing a year out with wyfc is something that you will remember and look back on all of your life.
