CHECK OUT WHAT WE DO...
SCHOOL FRIENDS PROJECT
WHAT?
The School Friends Project aims to spend time on that school yard during lunch times to provide support and friendship and a positive presence every week. We currently work in Thornhill school every Tuesday from 12.40pm.
WHY?
Many young people in school today can really struggle socially and feel isolated, especially during lunch times.
HOW?
If you are a good listener and care about young people and have an hour spare each week perhaps you could become a school friend.
GAP YEAR PROGRAMME
WHAT?
Working in schools and alongside local churches taking assemblies, RE lessons and clubs, youth clubs and drop in's and Sunday schools.
WHY?
To give local young people the opportunity to serve locally instead of moving away, helping them to grow in their faith through serving in local schools and for them to explore what God might be calling them to do.
HOW?
Perhaps you are a young person (18-25yrs) looking ahead to the future or a church looking for someone to help support current work. If so, please get in touch.
The Well-Being Programme
The wellbeing programme called wellkidz is a 6 week programme designed to be used in both primary and secondary schools which seeks to support young people who are struggling with their mental health and well being. The course aims to look at issues of loss, friendship, building confidence, fears and anxieties and managing emotions,, helping young people to develop ways of dealing with challenges that they may face. Each group will have no more than 6 pupils at any one time and will be fun, interactive and be a safe place for pupils to be able to learn and share together.
