CAPERNWRAY STUDENTS
March 28, 2017
Enon has recently hosted four students from Capernwray Bible School; Pascal, Maddie, Catlin, and Sage. During their time here they were involved in many things within the church including community work such as litter picking and a coffee morning. We also had the privilege of bringing them to one of our RE lessons. It was great getting to know the four of them and showing them what it’s like working in English schools.

OUR SCHOOLS AND YOUNG PEOPLE NEED YOUR PRAYERS
December 13, 2016
From January, National YFC launch their year of prayer called #Pray365. As part of this, we are planning different ways the team and supporters can pray more effectively. We are asking you to pick one school to pray for. You can sign up for this on our homepage by filling in the form. We will then send you information about the school and the work we do there.

UPDATE 8
September 14, 2016
We have decided to send out more information through our new “Update 8” project. During the school year, you will receive eight updates on what we’re doing at Wearside Youth for Christ so you can keep informed on what we’re doing and where we would really appreciate prayer. You can sign up to these emails on our home page.

200 CLUB
September 14, 2016
The 200 club is a fundraising scheme that has been running for a number of years now. The aim is to find 200 people to give £1 a month to the work of WYFC. At present we have 6 churches and 100 members signed up. We are looking to find another 100 members this year. These 6 churches have 1 person who collects all the money each month from the members and then arranges for the money to be sent to us at the office. This person is called the 200 club representative. If your church already has a representative then speak to them and sign up as a member. If you don’t have a rep in your church then you could sign up as the rep and gather some members in from your church. Don’t delay and sign up today!! To all new members we will send you regular updates of the work by email via our Update Eight news updates which come out 8 times during the year.
Churches and their reps:
Boldon IM’s: Heather Rutherford
Enon Baptist Church: Joan Whitcomb
Fulwell Methodist Church : Elain Pattison
Ewesley Road : Myroon Greenfield
Elim Pentecostal Church: Betty Stafford
St Mark’s Millfield: Geoff Walker

EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND CHURCHES
September 07, 2016
We are passionate about giving young people the opportunity to serve God in schools and in the local church, giving them tools for life in ministry. One of the ways they can do this is by taking a Gap year. WYFC is part of the steering group for Equip North East which is a practical gap year programme with theological training included. We are looking to recruit young people aged between 18 and 25 and local churches who could be potential placements to sign up and be a part of this exciting new programme. If you are interested contact Andy at the office or look at the Equip North East website at www.equipnortheast.com
